Q. Why the hell did you send me a friend request?
A. I sent you a friend invitation because you expressed an interest in music on your profile, because you have some strange, quirky habit that interests me, because I liked the sound of your name, your picture intrigued me... or for some other reason. I think it's awesome to meet new people and to also introduce them to my music and vision and to share knowledge and insights, so what better place to do it than Virb?
Q. How come you never came back after adding me as a friend?
A. I would have if you had sent me a message or posted a comment on my message board. I try my very best to visit each one of you to post a hello. So if I missed you, please post a 'whazzzup' and I will do the same in return :)
Q. You're just another Pop-tart, why should I waste my time listening to your music?
A. Dam... I always did have problems getting my frosting just *right*!
I am of the opinion that everyone is entitled to their own opinion... so if you think I'm pop-tartish... so be it. I don't see myself that way at all. I am an educated musician, wholly dedicated to her craft, who prides herself in being among the best in her genre. I make music that I love with messages I think will reach people on many different levels. My job as an artist is to reach others and I think I do a good job of that. But, I'm bound to piss off or annoy a few people along the way, so sorry if I do, but that's life. My advice to you is to quit wasting your time reading this and please find some other deserving artist to support... there are a zillion out there who would love to have you as a fan.
Q. If I write a message to you/post on your board I bet you won't reply!
A. I will! I will do my best to reply to you if you post a greeting here on my Virb message board. Sometimes I am very busy working on various projects and it can take some time to get back to you... but I will do my best to reply to you in a reasonable amount of time.
Q. Why aren't you on the Radio/TV?
A. Wow... that is the question of the millennium! The basic reason in a nutshell is because I am an Independent artist and we generally don't get significant radio air play or TV time because these mediums costs a great deal of money to get on. If you want to learn more about that, I'd recommend reading an article I wrote about it. It may shed some light on this area for you and explain it better.
Sometimes we Indies are lucky enough to get some airplay in limited markets or on special shows, and I always announce what radio stations are playing my music thru my message board, mailing list and web site... but sadly you most likely won't hear my songs on mainstream radio or see my videos on mainstream TV (for now at least). The more you spread the word and support my music by buying CD's, the higher the chance will be of you hearing me at radio and seeing my videos. So please, if you like the music, support it buy buying a CD. Record companies pay attention to artists who sell lots and lots of CDs! When you sell lots and lots of CD's, labels take care of paying to get radio airplay!
Q. Can I buy your CD in Stores?
A. You can order 'Let The Candle Burn' via special order at your local record store. It will be listed under "The Orchard", my distributor. BUT I have heard from fans that it is sometimes hard to do this. Let The Candle Burn is the only CD I have that is readily available at Major retail. Go to the next question so I can tell you the best way to buy my CD's...

A. The best way to buy the CD is online at your favorite online digital retailer or at Backstage Commerce. You can get a listing of sites that sell the CD and Digital Downloads on the MUSIC section of my web site. My Christmas album, 'A Cool Christmas' is available at Artistlaunch.com
Q. Can I get digital downloads of your songs?
A. All of the songs from 'Let The Candle Burn' are available at your favorite Digital Retailer (iTunes, Raphsody, Sony Connect etc), including iTunes. 'Queen of Me' can be purchased on the Soul Essentials 7 Compilation from Avex Japan.
Q.Hey Nat... I've been a fan of yours for a while now and I noticed it's been a bit since you put out a full album. I was wondering what's taking so long?
A. Awe, I appreciate that you are so excited! I am really excited for my release as well. There are a couple of reasons: One is that I have been doing more behind the scenes work in the last few years doing music for Film and TV projects. The other is that I am working on some very special and important things to go along with my next full length release and my label and I are working to make the release and surrounding events VERY special. I can't give away details now as that would ruin the surprise, but this next release is going to be more than just another album in my Discography. There's some very cool stuff coming along with the CD. I know you won't have minded the wait once you get it. I'm excited to share some things very close to my heart with you and the album is only a SMALL part of my sharing my heart. Stay tuned and you'll hear and see....

Q. How did you get started in the Music Business?
A. A sincere passion to write and sing professionally landed me in the music business. You can read my professional bio here if you would like more info. But the long and short of it is that I have a dream to use my music to touch other peoples lives in a positive way. This is not an easy business to be in and it takes a ton of effort and energy on every level to be in the business and create music, but it is what I have dedicated my life to professionally. My journey so far has been filled with many experiences and lessons that have shaped me and honed me both on the creative and business levels. I've had good deals, bad deals, written great songs and some not so great ones, I've had fabulous shows and some not so fab ones... but thru it all I have learned, grown and gotten better at what I do. The most important thing in this business is knowledge, followed closely by persistence. If you do not have both of these elements, but are the most talented person in the world, you will not go far.
Q. I want to get into the Music Business, can you help me?
A. I can definitely point you to some resources that can help. First place is my Music Business Message board. There you will find questions and answers to some of the most common things people want to know when breaking into the business. I suggest you register and read all the forums in that section. You can also post a question and I will either answer it for you or find the best person to answer your question.
The second thing you can do is arm yourself with knowledge. I have set up a special section on my web site that has a ton of resources for the beginner and even advanced artists. There are links to books, web sites, OMD's, PRO's, Copyright Info and much more in the FOR ARTISTS section of my site.
Never stop learning. Knowledge is your biggest ally in this business when it comes to making sound decisions for you and your art.
Q. I'd like to help spread the word about you and your music. How can I do that?
A. I would LOVE to have your help. There are several things you can do:
1.) Grab some natFAN goodies such as banners, avatars, buttons, videos, player codes etc. and post them on every site and message board you visit. You can get all that stuff with instructions HERE.
2.) Buy my CD's and play them for friends, co-workers and family. The best way for people to catch on is to hear the music. Feel free to give them my main site url (www.natalie-brown.com) and tell them to visit or point them here to Virb and tell them to add me as a friend.
3.) Invite your friends to check out my web site and join my mailing list.
4.) Make sure you come out and see me perform live when I go back on tour. I will be announcing tour dates at my web site, here and also to those who are subscribed to my mailing list. When you come make sure you say hello as I would love to shake your hand.

Q. OK so I read your Bio and all, but tell me some things people might not know about you...
A. Hmmmm... well I am CANADIAN! Yeah Canucklehead in the house. I'm very silly. I LOVE to change my hairstyle all the time. I am a reformed nail biter. I am shy with guys when it's not business. I live far away from my family. My Mom is a Breast Cancer survivor. I am a survivor PERIOD. I am a very giving person (to a fault actually, oh well!). I put on a tough face but I am jelly inside. Music is my reason for living. I have the WORST potty mouth you could ever imagine! I'm very curious and I love to learn about everything. I am a walking Encyclopedia, actually I am a nerd I think! When I was a kid I used to jump off a lot of fences and try to fly (I was unsuccessful but I never broke a bone- can u believe that!). I am totally accident prone (I have set myself on fire SO many times by accident while lighting candles in the studio). I love people-watching. I love touring/traveling and roaming around the globe meeting new people and learning new customs. I love to learn how to cook different kinds of food. I love Zhang Yimou's films and Asian films in general. I have lived all over North America. I am an actress as well as singer and I love to do live theatre. I have a brother (Stu) who is a Death Metal artist. He sings lead vox for Century Media's "Into Eternity". I love animals. I love to help people and volunteer whenever I can... what else u wanna know?

Q. What color/style is your hair now and why do you keep changing your hair color and style?
A. LOL, you people and the huuuurrr! OK I am still growing it out and I dyed it a very dark brown last week (12/30). I am still growing my hair out and am happy to report that it is past my shoulders now. You will have to stay tuned to see what I do next.... I love to change my hair. I think it is so much fun to do that. I don't know why, it's just something I have always done and will probably do all my life. I like playing with my hair! Being a girl is FuN! But an FYI for those who just hafta know... my natural hair color is a dark blonde... sort of dirtyish brown...
